Happy Belated Birthday!!!

Ok, so I'm really, really bad at doing things on time... but don't let that stop you loving me! Monday (Oct 30), was my grandma's birthday!!!!! Her age is protected as a state secret, but we celebrate the completion of another successful year on planet Earth. I'm supposed to be paying attention in class right now so I'll leave you with a picture and happy birthday wishes!!!

Jambasta!

This is what I cooked for dinner last night and I just had to post about it. It was a perfect weeknight meal and it was sooooo good. I made a couple of small changes to work around what I already had in the house so i didn't have to go and buy new stuff, but it turned out great!!! My camera is out of batteries so I stole the picture from food network but I'll get some more batteries later. Look for pictures of Christmas projects in the works as well as more forays into the cooking realm!

Change is how we all move forward...

Hey everyone - you may have noticed a couple of changes over the last few weeks. I'm in the midst of overhauling things here at Haus Knitwit. I expect to be done sometime this week with the whole site. So, if you see anything you love, anything you hate, or something that you think I lost in this makeover just shoot me a comment! No knitting content right now... I'll see about not being lazy and updating some things later if I get a chance.

Happy Turkey Day!!!

So I think that the upgrades around here are mostly finished. I've had to focus on things going on around the house in preperation for the holidays. I have sooo much laundry to do its not even funny. I'm hoping that I can make a dent in the wash and cleaning stuff by the middle of the day tomorrow, because then I have to drive up to Traverse City and back to drop off one friend. Then I get to pick up another friend and turn back around and drive back home!!! I'm trying to figure out how much I can trust other people to drive so I can work on my Christmas knitting.. because it'll be here much sooner then I care to think about... well, I've nothing to do but to leave you with more pictures of knitting progress:

Mason Dixon baby bib. 'nuff said.

Worsted weight snowdrop shawl close up. It's going well so far. I've gotten the main body of the shawl done and I've picked up sts for the edging.

readyedging.jpg

All the edge sts picked up for the WW snowdrop shawl. This is going to be the biggest project that I have managed to work start to finish without any major setbacks or loss of interest. I'm kinda excited to see how it turns out!!

hatpurple.jpg

The long awaited purple cable hat. Handspun sportweight, size 5 needles. Pattern was really simple and easy to read and can be found here --> D-made Free Patterns

twin2almostdone.jpg

Progress so far on the twin blankets. This is blanket #2 and I'm on the last ring of color and then I just have the edging left to finish. I'm hoping that these can be finished and in the mail on their way to Seattle before Christmas.

yogabag.jpg

More Christmas knitting. This is turning into a yoga mat bag for one of my aunts. In addition to the strap I'm going to put a small pocket and a key clip on the side so that you don't need your whole purse to go to yoga, just your mat, wallet, and keys. We'll see how this turns out for me.

"Why is that truck facing me???" Seen on a road trip to a church conference. There was a semi towing another semi, we weren't on the wrong side of the road!
